Sounds like you're agreeing with me then. My main point was that your bandwidth would likely take a hit when you have more people in view, because you need to receive updates about everything you see. What I was getting at in this thread is that I can't see having 64-128 players in view all at once (maybe....on a PC, but no way on a console without significant graphical sacrifices).
But now I'm confused, my first response was to somebody saying BF2 only supported 32 players in a map, and now you're saying it supported 64.
Anyway, if we're saying that either way that only 16 people are in view, then it really doesn't matter if you have 500 people in a map, most of your bandwidth is for the people you can actually see, and a marginal amount of data from the server for the status of what's going on where you can't see, like the ranking and scores for the entire map, etc...
