To OP: tried using different SATA ports?
Yup, even tryed the two sata 3 ports, but the drives dont show in bios when they are plugged into them, they might be dead
The first time I bought this board, it had a dieing i/o controller, no installs would last more than a day, even on single drive setups. I tryed 5 different harddrives with the old board but all the installs died. So I RMAd the board, the new one came in a different box, and CPUz detected an 870 chipset this time, the old board said 780SB. it works ok with out RAID but something is still not right. I had to disable every sata option except the IDE mode for my sata ports, if I try AHCI I cant make partitions on the drives, windows gives me some crazy error, I looked it up and everyone said I needed to install the drivers for the controller but that didnt fix anything..... Im ready for a new board lol, but il proly wait for dozer or when sandy bridge gets back on the marketEdited by timma100 - 2/4/11 at 5:31am
