do i still have OC headroom?

ok so i noticed my temps were a bit high (~45c idle and under load it went above 60) so i took off the heatsink and found when i first put it on too little TIM, anyway after putting some more on and reseating the heatsink i now have ~37c idle, and 53c under load

i know the max temp is 62c so it it still safe to OC it if i only about 7c headroom?

55C below is usually the most optimal for stability (even if you are safe to 62C), but by all means go for it if you do so wish

if 55c is the suggested max for an OC then ill rather not chance frying my chip

Nah, you'll be fine (i.e. no frying risk) at 62C or below, just that stability (i.e. not failing stress tests) is usually best at 55C or below. Phenom IIs love running cooler.

ahhh ok, will 1.4v be enough for 3.6?

Every chip has different voltage requirements with different clocks. See what works for you.

Only testing will tell everyones build a bit different, raise the cpu voltage slightly each time,
test in prime95 small fft's and it should crash pretty quick without enough voltage.
Keep going till its stable and of course keep a close eye on temps each time.

Good luck!

1.4v @ 3.6 is a nogo, will bump it up another .25v in the morning and see how it fairs.
