Either of those cards will max all your games I'm sure. You should be set for 2 years easily with either one.

What is that supposed to mean?

I have the GTX 580... just haven't updated my sig yet. Like it says I have the Antec 1200 & the H50

When I have an 800D and full water cooling loop.........

Still say the 6990 as ATI is known to released dual GPU cards better than Nvidia's...

Nvidia has only released 1 card where it was actually 2 GPU's on 1 PCB, most of their other cards were 2 PCB's sandviched together in one case... lol

GTX 590/595 will destroy the HD 6990. Think about the HD 5970, the successor to the former flagship, the HD 5870. The 5970 was about 10-20% slower than two 5870's. That is because AMD put two non-flagship chips into a flagship. My guess is that they will do that again. NVidia on the other hand, will put two flagships into a super flagship.

Also, for an easier explanation:
2x6970's are crap compared to 2x580's

590/595's would be incredibly good cards if they came out with 6GB versions. 1.5GB frame-buffer just isn't enough these days.

Well i think we all just need to remember that AMD will be sure to bring the performance for a good price. Its what they do. Nvidia no doubt will bring a card that does certain things much more efficiently than the 6990, but at what cost?
I think which card youre salivating over really depends on how rich your blood is, ya know? Me, for example, ive always been an AMD guy because though i consider myself an enthusiast, the pocket book often brings some restraint. Ive always found the performance/prce ratio to be much more desirable with AMD.
Nothing is certain untill these cards are benched and pushed, we all know that.
But to be frank, when the hell are we going to have some sort of release date for these monsters?

no. amd is not el cheapo product maker. the profit is important for them, all they have is just different way of building stuff, that is why they got lower prices or in hd3k and 4k they had to fight with price. but its not the way of amd to sell cheap

For who? You and the eight other guys that have 3 X 30"?

No offense, but you're not profitable to design reference products for. Steam survey shows only 4.39% of their over one million surveyed have a resolution that's below 10X7 or above 19X12,and that less than 25% of the 1 maybe 2% of people that have multi monitor might have your resolution. They don't have the far more popular 5040X1050 listed, or 5760 X1080 listed, so my guess is your resolution is a pretty tiny percentage even of the quarter to half a percent it might be.

So, while it's well and good you opted for a very nice set of monitors, you aren't really expecting reference products to target your market are you? Why would 99.75% of us want to pay more so you are accomodated?

The fact is 1.5GB does very well for 5760 X 1080, if you look at the VRAM usage charts here:

http://www.widescreengamingforum.com...eatured_Review

Only exceeds 1.5GB on the 5760 X1080 tests on 4/11 games tested, and one of those barely.

Personally I like 30" displays, have a 3007WFP-HC, but I went with 3 X GD235Hz for the possibility of running games at good framerates and in 3d when I upgraded my 3 X 2233RZs.

NVIDIA board makers do have your back though- they are the only ones producing 3GB cards for those of you blessed with the l33t 75X16.

EDIT- just noticed your three way 3GB SLi, so I guess you know that!
