Watercooling 1090t, questions

Thread Starter
I am looking to get a Rasa kit for my 1090t, but have a question or two...

I currently am using a Noctua NH-D14, but am selling it to get my rasa kit. I was first going to get the 240 kit seeing as I am not going to water GPUs. I posted in the Rasa thread and they said that the 240 kit would likely not be an improvement to my Noctua, is this true?

Whats the best temps I am going to get at 4.2-4.4GHz with a WC loop?

Thanks.

You might not see an improvement as far as overclock goes, but you will see a drop in temp. Who told you that the 240 won't do better then your d14?

The d14 is only slightly better then an h70. I know for a fact that the RS240 is better then the H70.

I get about 43c full load temps with my RS360 kit.
You will love a WC kit. For both the looks and the temps. Plus it is fun to put together.

you can easily fit a RS360 kit, and it will help you overclock because it provides thermal headroom. I've had a problem with getting past 4.2 stable, because of the processor, not even remotely the temperatures Oh and the temps in your cpu will vary depending on what the ambients in your house are, and also what fans you're using, and push/pull, etc etc but expect about 10-15c above ambient at 1.4-1.5v on idle, and 20-25c above at load

My temps, in a 70F house with full load and 1.42v on core and throwing gpu in there on load is max temp 36c

I can almost guarantee you that with that loop temps will not be the limiting factor. I hit the wall around 4.4 on my 1090t well before I hit a wall on my temps.

i'm at 4.3ghz 1.53v with my stock RS240 XSPC kit

been 100% load (folding) for the past 2 month or so , cores average 35c +/- depending on ambient

You will see huge drop in temp.
240's can support i7's with greater heat out put so your 1090t should be fine.
I dont know if you can get a higher overclock but your room should be cooler

Alright, thanks guys. Looks like I will be going with the 240. My chip can get 4.2 easy, but the temps made me uncomfortable.
