i5 2500k Temp question - Page 2

its should be below 70 c from stock cooler imo, and u r not even overcloking yet, my e 7400 overclock from 2,8 to 3,6 hz get near 75 c from stock cooler when Prime, check if your case is well ventilate , its make a HUGE different. (But then again i dont have an i5 2500 so lol )

I believe my case is well ventilated (Antec 600 Black). Saving up for a better cooler and thermal paste as I spent all my $$ on my build. Also after 24 hrs temp has gone down 2 degrees on load.
My second build!

Do they say if those test setups were done in a PC case or on an open air test bench? I'm sorry, but I was too lazy to read through the whole thing, but from what I gathered, I would venture to say that it was the latter.

The I5 2500k looked like it idled at ambient room temps. Is it just me, or does that seem a little off? I mean wouldn't it at least be a little warmer since, I don't know, there's electricity running through it?

In any case, I've never seen temps that low on my 2600k at stock speeds and voltage. My ambient is about 19C, and I'm running a Corsair H70 on it in an Antec 300 case, p/p exhaust. My case heats things up a bit I know, and the airflow is moderately good. I typically see idle: 27-32C, and load: up to 67C on hottest core. Again, that's with stock speed and vcore.
