A 4870x2 is pretty close to the 5870, and two 5770s is pretty close to a 5870. I don't think that the 4870x2 smokes two 5770s at all. If anything the two 5770s would beat the 4870x2 and you would have directx 11.

4870 itself is a bit faster than 5770.
But CFX Scaling on 5000 series are better than 4000 series (and 6000 series are even better).
So, I'd say they are equal in performance. But HD 5770 have some great advantages.
- 2x HD 5770 use significantly less power than HD 4870 X2
- You can use Eyefinity in HD 5770
- HD 5770 supports DX11
- HD 5770 runs cooler than HD 4870 X2

HD 5970 is okay but why not getting 2x HD 6850 instead of single HD 5970?
Their performance are very close each other.
HD 5970 is an old card and you might get a bit problem when asking about warranty if something bad happen to your card.

Idk man ive been told to stay away from two card solutions cause of problems but i want to do the CF 5770 how much of a performance increase will i see cuz my CPU right now on GTA4 is like 41% cuz my card is bottlenecking it frown.gif same with others like BFBC2.ETC and how do u avoid problems, just keep drivers updated or what cuz i do that all the time and are the drivers the same ones or CF drivers??
