P6T Deluxe V2 unstable with 12 gigs of RAM

Thread Starter
Asus P6T Deluxe V2 board
Newest Bios (1180?)
I7 D0 920 processor.
12 gigs (6x2) of OCZ3 1600 gold series PC3 12800
Everything auto...

It will boot with 6 gigs.
It will boot with 8 gigs.
12 gigs = no luck.

Can anyone point me in the right direction on how to get it stable with the 12 gigs in it?

I'm not worried about performance or overclocking this particular machine; it just needs to be stable.

Any help appreciated.

cheers,
Ed

Lower clocks, loosen timings, increase Uncore voltage, increase DIMM voltage.
Once again...

Can you point me to a general guide on how to accomplish these things?
I understand where all the settings, etc are in my BIOS.. I just need a general idea of what kind of numbers to work with.
cheers and thanks!

There is no hard set method.... You really have to play with the values.

Try all stock timings e.g. 133 bclk, 1066MHz dram freq, 1.65V Vdimm, cas 9 etc, auto voltage for vtt. If it doesn't work then try the xmp profile. Run memtest on 6gb then on the other 6gb under the stock timings. If it fails memtest then return the memory. If it doesn't fail memtest but won't realize 12gb at stock speeds then rma the mobo.

OCZ and Asus boards tend not to play well. Just a warning. Set everything to stock and work from there!

It may be a bit late on this thread but I thought I'd post my experience just in case you look in.
It seems quite a few people have problems getting all their Ram to show on the P6T
when using a large Air Cooler, I dismissed it at first but when I couldn't resolve may Ram
issue, had 6GB Mushkin showing 4, I decided to give it a try.
When I took off the "Noctua NH-U12P CPU Cooler" and put on a KUHLER H20 620 Liquid Cooler all 6GB have been showing ever since. I assume it was the weight putting stress
in an area on our board that it just doesn't like. It surprised me.
