XFX secretly changes warranty????

So I am sure most of you know/knew that XFX was pretty much the last company that would allow you to change coolers without voiding the warranty. So I went into my computer just now to install my AC 5970 Extreme and I see two stickers on the screws for the x-plates saying "Void if removed". I wrote to XFX just now because this is my fourth 5970 I believe and I have never seen them before, and the warranty on their website looks the same as always.

I tried to take pictures with my camera phone but it just wasn't going to happen, wife comes back tomorrow with camera.

Stop with the conspiracy theories.

They were on my 6870 too and it's the first time I've seen them. But this is a repost.

Not the news section.

I searched xfx and warranty and got nothing. I am going to wait until I get a reply XFX before doing anything.

+1 Finally got down to the part where it said in America, you can still remove the stickers to have after market cooling, but not some other places. Thanks.

Ugh, they're a global company. Plus who gives a 5? I saw the stickers and did some searching and found the answer I needed. In general people have brains, maybe they can use them?

It does get old when you have people constantly posting: "XFX was mean to me, so no one else should ever buy anything from them, to teach them a lesson."

The problem is that, satisfied customers make not a peep, while pissed off customers reiterate the same problem ad nauseam until that's all you ever hear on the subject. So, I'll break the trend...my XFX RMA went smoothly and I have no complaints about it at all.

Hence why I said in my very first post that I contacted XFX, maybe you can risk having a $700 brick but I can't.

Plus, how more could I use my brain?
1) Interpreted "Warranty Void If Removed" as . . . . . . . . "Warranty Void If Removed"
2) First thing I did was go to XFX's website and check the warranty, got nothing.
3) Contacted XFX, closed of course, won't get anything until tomorrow
4) Searched OCN to see what I could find, found nothing, at least recent enough.
5) Posted a thread to see what OCN had to say.
