Help me find a new display.

I need a display with a photo editing quality IPS panel which is 40 inches or more with 60Hz or more and 6ms or better response time with 500cdm/2 brightness which will look better than my professional quality gateway in color accuracy and black levels for both pure photo editing as well as moving pictures like movies and gaming. I don't want this 240Hz, 600Hz garbage gimmick crap when mine is 60Hz (one TENTH of that), or this LED TV gimmick garbage either. I want CATHODE backlighting with 500cdm/2 or brighter. thickness is NOT a factor. weight is NOT a factor. heat output is NOT a factor. I wan't a good fluid motion professional IPS screen with 1080P or better output. 2550x1600 would be awesome but is extremely proprietary past 30 inches. If you find one past 1080P let me know. I am looking for the utmost photo editing quality first and foremost. Price is also not a factor.

I'm tired of looking in best buy, microcenter, sony style, any electronic store that has displays or tv's and seeing $4,000 displays with MILLIONS of contrast ratio compaired to my ONE THOUSAND, 600Hz bullcrap gimmick fake technology and all this other crap like wifi in it, 3d tech which looks like complete GARBAGE, LED garbage gimmick technology which does nothing but backlight it. All these tv's have are bigger numbers which mean nothing, and are just designed to confuse people. I want a 40 inch or better screen that puts my monitor which looks better than dell ulrasharps to complete shame for photo editing and everything else.

I seriously doubt I'll replace this screen within the next 5 years, I bought it four years ago.

Wow those are some very specific requirements, I've been searching for like 10 mins and I can't find anything that fits more than 3 of the requirements you have...

- 40 inch or over
- more than 60GHz
- 6ms or better
- 500 cdm/2
- IPS panel
- 2550 x 1600 resolution

60Hz OR more, meaning it's not imortant.

but yeah, THE most important spec isn't even listed; and that is the panel technology. I want an S-IPS panel which means super In Plane Switching. The subpixels are horizontal and not vertical which the most comon panel type called the TN panel, or Twisted Nematic panels. TN panels are garbage because the sub pixels are in a vertical array. this means viewing angles are terrible and suffer from color distortion at different angles. this is not the only flaw of a TN panel. In a TN panel, the sub pixels can only block 192 shades of light each, cubed is 7.07 million ACTUAL colors. this means that the sub pixels need to interporlate adjecent sub pixels which fools the average eyes into thinking it's generally the right color espcially with moving pictures. The problem with this is the color smears EVERYWHERE. An S-IPS panel's sub pixels will block usually, 256 shades of light cubed is 16.7 million colors for each pixel which is more than twice that of the average TN panel, with no loss of viewing angle what so ever. LED backlighting is a gimmick because it's not even as bright as cathodes. the brightest LED backlit tv's are only 300cdm/2 or so brightness. this monitor I'm typing on is 450 cdm/2. contrast ratio is of no concern to me at all. black levels are nice, but not huge.

I'm doubting anyone on this site can even find me the right display and further, I doubt this display even exists and if it does exist, it's going to cost at least $4,000, if not more, just for 40 inches. In 2007, I paid $700 for this 24 inch monitor and still can't find one that looks better in a store. this includes multi thousand dollar LED tv's with million sof contrast ratios and hundres more Hz refresh rates. My only complaint with my monitor is the lack of HDMI. But I will eventually want bigger, with the same panel technology and maybe start looking into a 10 bit screen.

somone please tell me I can find a 40 inch+ 10 bit screen with S-IPS cathode backlit more than 500cdm/2 brightness panel technology and multiple HDMI inputs with good on screen options which is great for calibrating.

It's funny how people always think an LED backlit tv is always better, and size is always better. My friend thought his old 42 inch LG garbage TN panel tv was better than this S-IPS monitor for color accuracy and clarity when the monitor is 1920x1200 vs 720P lol, funny thing is, his house is riddled with extreme high fidelity sound equipment. that makes no sense to me.

The point is, watching a blu ray from 4-5 ft away, I've never seen a better movie screen in my life than the monitor I'm typing on. I want to change that and the MOST IMPORTANT THING for me in looking for a display is literally the same exact thing professional photo editors want: color accuracy reproduction.

Can anyone help me find what I'm looking for and possibly help me find out where to demo one?

edit: oops it was listed my bad, still; repeating it probably shows that it's the most important part lol
