Video Tearing

I'm currently experiencing issues with video tearing. Right now, I'm running with three displays; two are monitors, one is an LCD TV. I have two video cards in use; a 460 for the two monitors and an 8400 GS for the TV with Xinerama enabled. I've recently updated my drivers and I am using the nvidia proprietary drivers. Before I added the 8400 GS and my TV, one of my two monitors would tear as one monitor was refreshing at 60Hz and the other at 59.93Hz and this is with VSync enabled. When I added my TV, my two monitors still tear, but it's much less noticeable, probably because the monitors are smaller than the TV (the monitors are 23" and 24", with the TV at 32"). However, with any sort of video playback on the TV, the tearing is very noticeable, as evidenced in a screenshot I took:

I do want to point out that I actually don't see large strips tearing like that during playback; it's usually very fast and it looks like a very brief tear, but distracting nonetheless. Would anyone know how to remedy this? It drives me pretty insane, honestly

I realized the first screenshot didn't show the tearing very well, so I played a different movie and got a screenshot of much more dramatic tearing. Ironically, I couldn't really tell that there was any tearing at all in this screenshot until I hit print screen and saw the preview. Was quite amazed at how bad it was, here it is:

I know you're not on Windows so this may not apply, but I found video tearing becomes unbearable when the application loses focus or has a dialog window opened from within it. Oddly this was never an issue with my ATI card. MPC-HC has a tearing test where it scrolls 2 verical lines across the video, so it was simple enough to test and confirm.
