You may have to load the driver for the ssd at the point that it asks for 3rd party drivers (sort of like when you set up a RAID). but it sounds like you have it well in hand.

I do have one by the way i need to update sig.U will notice a heck of a difference on boot and program access. My windows expirience went from 5.9 to 7.5 on this intel ssd. I was goin to order my new 2600k system but since they had a recall on it i can go with the sata 6 wich is a tad bit faster when u pair it up with a c300.

Firstly,

Preferably, your SSD should be hooked up to your First SATA port on your Intel SATA Controller.
Make sure AHCI mode has been selected in your BIOS.

I assume you're not booting off of the drive, being that you're in Windows with it (Device Manager).
Start>Run>diskmgmt.msc and partition the drive. It should show up with your other drives afterward.

-

I say this ^, because your OP was quite vague.
Are you attempting to perform a Windows Installation on the fresh SSD? And it doesn't detect the drive?
Or are you booting from your other HDD, and Windows doesn't detect the drive except from within Device Manager?

-

The ideal way to go about using your SSD is in this order (briefly touched on above).
1) Mount and hook up the SSD (leave your previous HDDs in place and connected as they are).
2) Set the BIOS to AHCI if hasn't been already.
2) In Windows, perform the aforementioned partitioning, firmware updates, any sort of SMART checks, benchmarks (ATTO only) etc.
3) Disconnect all of the drives.
4) Connect ONLY the SSD; to the first SATA port.
5) Set the SSD as the first hard disk to be booted.
6) Install Windows & Shutdown.
7) Reconnect your other HDDs to the remaining SATA ports (2,3,4,etc).
