[EA]BF3 ships Fall 2011 - Updated 15/02/11 + New Interview/Twitter Stuff - Page 27

Hmm, I want to pre-order, but I prefer either to get the discs or get it on Steam. I prefer those over the EA Digital Download... :\\

I'll wait to pre-order, maybe those options will come about later.

Also, glad to see that this game is starting at $50 instead of the increasingly popular $60 price tag that I hate ever-so-much.

i doubt they had much choice over the matter. EA likes to hold content back from the releases of their game, just look at Dragon age, Dragon age 2, Mass effect 2. Its just part of their plot to force gamers to preorder their products.

while i will not bite on dragon age 2, i just might with battlefield 3. im currently battling my demons for control of my wallet. Currently no victor.

I understand that bioware and dice are no longer and control of their releases or their products. I just hope that in spite of their lack of control they keep their love for gaming alive. Without the love of gaming we get infinity ward, treyarch(which i used to be a fan of grey matter), or the multititude of other gaming developers that get devoured by publishers, raven software is a skeleton. Everything they ever were and ever will be is gone, activision has sucked their bones dry and performed a necromancy to keep them alive.

I pray that tripwire interactive and obsidian never fall to corporate control.

I don't ever do this, but I'm pretty sure that I'll be getting my copy on Steam, AND a boxed copy. I just want to have the box hanging on my wall.

i believe that is only because that EA knows in order to beat Activision, EA has to prove they have the better game, in order to do that, they have to provide the better game. If EA defeats call of duty with battlefield 3, i feel that the end is truly upon us. battlefield will become the next cod series, where profit is more important than anything else. I think that mass effect and dragon age prove that. There are really no contenders in that market and EA is absolutely capitalizing on it. Ripping content from what should be in in the release and charging for it.

personal feelings on the matter, may or may not be the truth folks.

i really hope not, but corporations dont have feelings, other than what it feels like to bathe in a bathtub full of money. I would proabably have trouble turning down a bathtub full of money too thoughk, so i cant be to hard on the investors.

Corporations are successful because they make people happy enough to buy their product. They don't have to cater to our every whim.

IE: Call of duty.

Call them profiteers all you want. Millions of people love the games they put out. They might be fanboys, or just people who don't look for every little mistake.

Case in point, everyone who QQ'd about the BC2 patches. Waaahhh..... The changed a gun, now I get owned! Guess what, so did everyone else's gun. They just were smart enough to adapt.

OK, I'm going all over the place here, I need some sleep, lol. I'll read this tomorrow, and find errors in what I said. have at it
