I don't even think a new 9600gt is worth $80 yet alone a used non-reference one.

You can check my sig regarding benchmarks used with and without a dedicated Physx card. Most of the cards were like a GTX 260 or something of that sort, and people did see increases in performance with them. However, some used cards like a GT 230 or something, and the card actually hurt the overall performance relative to the primary card itself.

Fermi is extremely good in computing compares to the previous cards.

Even a 9800GT will bottlenecked a GTX480. You need at least a GTX260 to do any good.

I tried 9800GT, 8800GTS and GTX260, only the GTX260 gives me a fps boost.

just go check out tm's video card section, old 8800gt's still selling for $100.

people are going nuts buying older cards, you wont get less then $60 on that 9600 gt, just put it up, see what you get ...
