HD6970, they're both about equal in terms of single card performance but the HD6970 scales better with a second card and has eyefinity.

My biggest concern is the low RAM on GTX 570. I probably wont be able to get a better graphic card before next christmas, and another card for cf/sli before summer.

I can see in the poll that more people are voting for the 570. I favor the 570 card at the moment 'cause of higher overclocks and just seems just a little bit more powerful than 6970.

But the 6970 card got Supersampling, from what I know it's only enabled in Dragon age and maybe some other game. But when the 570 got Physx, it's nothing i favor THAT much. Sure it's AMAZING but there's such a low number of games out which has Physx enabled.

Concerning the processor, what do you think? Should a x4 955 black edition @ 4ghz+ bottleneck either of the two cards?

Thanks

True. But I'm planning on future SLI or CF.

It's different from review to review.. I'm a little afraid of the 1280mb RAM wont be enough for future games.
than you shoul go for maybe 2x 560 or 2x 480

Both cards are a good choice, although I prefer the larger vram of the AMD cards like you.

However, I would not be building a rig with those aspirations around a quad core AMD. Go AMD hexacore or sandybridge (gotta wait till the refeshes are released).

What reasons are there for me getting two 480? It's outdated and expensier than 570. They are currently priced at 450$ while the 6970 and 570 are priced at, well ~420$

And why would I buy one 560 when I can afford one 570 or 6970? The 560 are priced around 340$ And two of them ~700$ And two 570/6970 ~900$
So I cannot afford two of them now, And I wont be able to get another one before I can manage to get my hands on another 570 or 6970.

Alright. However I probably place an order on the parts later on in febuary(I've already postponed the order for months for the Sandy Bridge release) so I don't plan to postpone it any more.

u can find 480 at good price , and they are going down just last week u could buy a 480 for 220 with after mir, 2nd u want max out metro 2033 wont happin with 1 card you need 2 of them.

and why a 480 over a 570 well if i recal a 480 is really close to a 570.

also 480 is not outdated a 570 is a lower grade new card thats all.

You can soft cook an egg on a 480, just in case you had too.

Over here in Sweden the 480 hasn't gone down a single SEK in price since the release of 570. Could be different in America.

True, 480 is kind of a better card. But it got heat issues and uses so much power. It feels outdated because it's using GF100 and 570 GF110.
In many reviews of the 570 it actually performs just a few % faster than the 480.
