Sources dried up

Thread Starter
I had some links copied that I got here for retailers that were selling EP45-UD3P boards in the 155.00 range (new). Well it now seems these sources have dried up and I paid way to much for an ebay item recently. Perhaps now that I have two of these my desires have been fulfilled but I ask if a source for new EP45-UD3P's is known.

I am having a hard time deciding on a cpu. Sure playing with a 9550 would be fun but the price is outrageous. Perhaps one of the dual cores in the 180.00 range (new) would be fun but have some re-sale value if I wanted to move away from the socket 775.

I have modern platforms for real work (1336 and AM3 stuff) and the socket 775 activity is simply as bit of nostaliga (that also can also be put to work as someones desktop rig). Mainly I ask how do others justify the big price for the 9550? perhaps you just have to pay what your hobby demands at times.

OCN isn't about justifying cost. It's about making the platform you have the best it can be, that is why it is so prevalent. I can't even justify 1/4 the cost of my rig.

Computers are pretty much the cheapest hobby I've ever had.

I'm 58 and have been thru a few.

OK Hippie and Stallion you had your fun on that topic, now do you know of a source for new EP45-UD3P's?

EDIT: I did find a site in Toronto that sells them new, you must bid on them though.
