Consider the ASUS ENGTX 460 DirectCu. I had both, Hawk and DirectCu. The second is quieter and has VRM heatinks. I got lucky with the GPU on the DirectCu and I hit 870 MHz at 0.962 def. voltage and 1GHz at 1.65 voltage. Check the 460 owners thread.

Lucky basterd lol I tried to see how dar I could push mine on its max safe voltage only managed 930 so I settled for 880 which runs crysis nice n smooth with everything on and with a res of 1600 X 1200 i belive dont trust that lol

this has to do with my crappy cabinet which has minimal airflow.....so now u get the idea how much more cooler the hawk can run in good cabinet...

If it goes up to 930 with the default limit on the voltage than there is a good chance that you can make it until 980-990 with high voltage. But make sure to have good cooling on the VRMs before you try that.

Yeah im still using the tin box that came with my rig horrible airflow and no cable management holes or areas lol so thats the main reason why the temps are a slight bit higher than normal. Whatever Il upgrade it eventually and on behalf of the question I have never owned a frozr but as far as im concerned the 460 cyclone is very reliable, powerful, and has a amazing cooler to beat those gpu temps down lol. Ok see you guys gotta go instruct some freestyle skiing lol.

Thanks for pointing out the Talon Attack to me. I'm on a very tight budget, and I literally just sold both my 260 and 250GTX within the past couple of days... I'm gonna have to do some deliberation, as one person earlier stated I may want to go with a 560GTX, which is $30 more than the 460GTX Talon. I'm always wary of going with quite new cards though for the exact point you made about the Talon, things get revisited, revised, and smoothed out.

Very nice info, you get a +1 . I think I may be leaning for a 460GTX Talon Attack, feedback looks much better than the Hawk as well.

Anyone know how well they SLi together? I might consider dropping another in later, it would be great to hear from someone using 2 Talons.

Thanks!

Talon Attack is overpriced imo. The lower latency memory will have no tangible effect at all in gaming, and it's clocks are easily attainable with a regular HAWK. If you're going to pay that much, you may as well get a 470/560 really.
