NOOB overclocker need help overclocking i7 950

Hi i have been trying to overclock the beast that i have build.
i have read many threads with my motherboard and cpu combo.
I have tried copying there bios setting casue they said its stabled.
It seems like every setup is defferent even though we have the same specs except differents rams. Im trying attempt to overclock it to the max thats stabled.

That's unstable?

I use literally the same volts and a clock speed within 20 Mhz 24/7, and mine's stable...

No 2 chips are the same, you can just copy other uses settings and expect them to work perfectly as it did for them. You have to tweak and find the sweet spot for your chip.

Get fully stable @ 4.0, then 4.2, and so on.

Read OC guides so you know what you're doing when tweaking.
