Which sata ports to use? Quick question

Hey,

I just got a quick question about Sata ports, which ports should i use? Got a HDD and a DVD:

Mainboard S-1155 ASUS P8P67 Pro, ATX
Prozessor INTEL Core i5 - 2500K, 3,30GHz, LGA1155, Quad-Core, Boxed
PSU ATX 650 Watt, CORSAIR 650TX, 80Plus
GFX CARD ATI HD4850 512mb - for now, keeping it from old PC
G.Skill DIMM 4 GB DDR3-1600 Kit (F3-12800CL7D-4GBRM, Ripjaws-Serie) CL7 8-7-24
DVD-+R/-+RW SATA LG GH-22NS50, bulk,
HDD SATA II Samsung SpinPoint F4, 320 GB, 16MB Cache - from old PC
Miditower XIGMATEK Midgard
Mugen 2 CPU Cooler

Any ports... I got mine plugged in randomly and it makes no difference

I would say plug the Hard drive into The Sata 1 socket if they are labeled on your motherboard. The DVD drive can go into Sata 2. I don't really think it matters what sockets you use though.

The HDD into the SATA III (6 gbps) port. The DVD player could go into any of them. The "issue" only affects the SATA II (3 gbps) ports, and then only 5-15% of all of those boards.

Incase i have the "issue" just to be sure which ports should i use?

There was a post made by the Computerbase.de (German PC site) and they said you could look up if ur board is affected with that "issue", i looked at it and by the looks of it, it's affected their post is true.

gigabyte has a port checker due to this error. it should work on any board. download it and check. under ud7 utilities
