PSU Connections For GTX 460

Hey guys,

I am in a small bind here. I have a GTX 460 and I know it has two 6 pin connections you need to hook up. Well, I have one that goes from my PSU to the GPU no problem. The second connection though I don't have. The GPU came with a 6 pin connector. One end was the black 6 pin connection and the other side was a 4 pin molex I believe it's called ? I had no other connections to put that molex into so I basically had to borrow my DVD players connection to another molex connection and used that so basically now I don't have a DVD player LOL. It's okay, I rarely use it. The GPU works great too. What connections do I need exactly for everything to be properly connected ? I also have a blue LED fan on the side of my case that I want to have power as well, it has a 4 pin molex connection. My PSU has 2 free 6 pin inputs that I can use. I just want my DVD player back with power and fan in my case to work also. Any ideas would be appreciated, I'll order the part that I need right away once I get a good idea what I need

It's a 550 Watt Antec, i'm wondering if I just need another 6 pin connector ? Its black on each end, it connects from the PSU straight to the GPU. The second one I have is not like the first one. It has a 6 pin connection, black at the end that connects to the GPU and then on the other end of it is a 4 pin molex connection.

Are these your cables?

Third pic.
Even the cheapest Antec 500w has 2x 6pin, so yours should definitely have them.

so frustrating when people dont just respond to questions.... we could be done with this if we just knew what psu he had. it sounds as if its modular. i think he see's the 6+2 and its confusing him.

If you give me a moment, ill RESPOND as quickly as I can. I took apart my computer to show you an illustration of what I mean. So please, have some patience guys, doing my best here. I don't know the model of PSU, i'm currently looking for it. I know it's NOT the one in the previous post.

1'st picture is the one from PSU to gpu, 2nd is the one that came with GPU that I have connected as well. What I want to know is if I can use the same connection I have in the first picture with the second power slot on my GPU and if I can, what's this cable called exactly? The molex is tying things up for me.

If you're asking whether you can use the molex converter and the default 6 pin, the answer is yes. But, what they're pointing out is your PSU should have come with two 6 pin connectors. Since it is apparently modular, you should have an extra PCI-E 6pin laying around somewhere.

He should have a 6+2 sitting around somewhere...
