This is a really stupid analogy. I don't think i need to explain why.

Hey Capcom, please suck a ____ and also, I will buy ZERO of your games as long as you sell ANY game with this kind of DRM.

You should explain why it is dumb so the idiots who believe it will know why they are stupid.

DRM like this is not a function of law enforcement. It is a backwards attempt to prevent piracy, one that does not work and only serves to punish legitimate users, the people who have actually paid for the product. The pirates won't have to worry about being online.

As a paying customer that has been denied access in several games due to DRM, I am trying to figure this out as well. In both instances I would have had a better experience if I had torrented the game.

It is naive to think that no pirate would have purchased the game they pirated. They obviously have some interest in the game if they go through the trouble of downloading it.

Not every download is a lost sale but I would not be surprised if something on the order of 10-25% are. That can add up to a lot of money for publishers. There are real reasons they want to reduce piracy. DRM like this is just the wrong way to do it.

Despite what a few of you think, there ARE places in the US that do not have access to high-speed internet.

My mom's house falls into this category. My brothers have an Xbox 360 that is not hooked up to the internet (and if they had a PS3, it wouldn't be either), and so if more developers start doing this, then we won't be able to purchase any games.

Again, what purpose does this serve? To prevent pirates from downloading the game for a week, 2 at the very most?

I think a stand needs to be put up against DRM. Like some sort of pledge among gamers that if a game has a DRM of any sort, no one buys it. That would surely fix the issue. Unfortunately that would be impossible to carry out.

And that makes stealing acceptable? Quit using tired excuses for piracy, people!
