Will a single 560 TI max out heavily modded Crysis at 1080P?

Thread Starter
I'd overclock it to 1 ghz, I'm getting the MSI Twin Frozr version. The mods I'd be using would be Real Lifesis and Dynamic fire, which are both extremely demanding mods.

Would one keep the frames at an acceptable (<30 at all times) rate?

No, you'll need more horsepower. If it's JUST crysis then yes but with those mods I really think you might want SLI gtx560's or gtx570/580 I don't know of any benches comParing those mods to regular crysis so what I'm telling you is based upon my opinion.

How much AA are you planning to set?

Regardless the answer is a definitive NO. I remember when I had one GTX480 and was running Crysis Warhead (which generally runs better than Cyrsis) I was getting 20-30 fps with 2x AA on.

Real Lifesis is far too demanding. Crysis alone is poorly optimized and tough to max out on a 580. Id sli 560s, and even that would be affected adversely by RL mod. Sli 570 would be a better choice imo.

when you try to conquer crysis, never go alone.
which means never try to play crysis on max with mods with only one video cards. always go in pair or triples smile.gif
the only exception is if you have a fast card and a low res like me.

I dont really see the point using mods on Crysis. It already looks beautiful and as most have already said, a GTX 560 wont be enough to handle those mods
post #7 of 9
I'm just going to stick with my 560Ti until the Keplar 28nm family comes out in Q4 2011 smile.gif That way I can save some money until the GTX 680 is out.

crysis wasn't poorly optimized ...it was designed to harness the true power of a pc's components..if you couldn't run it properly it was because your hardware was lacking a bit...

I agree, the fact that Crysis is still more or less unmatched in terms of visual quality and the fact that it has scaled amazingly consistently over the years is testament to the fact that it isn't a "poorly optimized" game but rather is a game that was engineered with the future (today) in mind.
