Introduction
This is my first case mod and my first thread on here.

I saw a lot of people calling their computers "Mistress" so i added a twist. Since most of the ideas of this mod come from others anyway I guess that's how inspiration works? adding your own little twist.

Sorry but these early pictures are from a cellphone. It's just the easiest way for me to log this when I'm finished i will take better pictures of the goods.

You might notice I never use/have the right tools for anything. I'm also ambitious as hell so most of this is probably outside my expertise.

PSU Cover Steel Mod

Lutro0 you have much I need to steal so the least i could do is cred. His work log is excellent you should check it out.

I ditched that plastic psu cover. I wanted something across the whole way for a clean look but with panache, what's a case mod without it?

So acrylic i go a cutting. I made some touch ups with a dremel only to figure out it flings balls of hot acrylic. My arms are now smooth and i have a new respect for acrylic and next time will pray to Syrillian god of acrylic.

Acrylic cutting

img00018201102040311.jpg

Hack saw baby! cuts through metal like butter and through acrylic like it's concrete. Took me around 2 hours actually. Patience and bullocks of steel the test of a true man at 4 am... Sorry that's my beard talking haven't shaved in like months.

img00021201102040319.jpg

Stability is boss.

img00023201102040330.jpg

Pepsi is boss. Just a FYI band aids are from a bad burn not the blades. Also be careful.... I'm generally dangerous the band-aids should give it a way. Got in a fight with a furnace and lost.

img00024201102040408.jpg

Oven mitts are boss(and manly). After that fight with the furnace I don't take any chances.

Steel bending

I am now gonna move on to bending Apologize for the crotch shot it was unintentional.

Oh shout out to "ILOVEPOTtery" for the help with the bending tho sadly i didn't even follow the tutorial posted by another member he had sent me.

http://www.overclock.net/faqs/118766-how-build-performance-shroud.html

I just put a bunch of clamps on two pieces of wood and used leverage on 26 gauge steel and a half inch bend.

The key is clamps for the smaller bends put that wood in a choke hold keep it together or it just slides out.

img00025201102041458.jpg

Now that i think about it... good thing i didn't lose the battle with the steel.

img00027201102041500.jpg

I over bent it... I just took a hammer and hammered it out crude but effective.

img00028201102041506.jpg

This is more bending.

img00033201102042213.jpg

End pieces.... will sand/paint when i have more time this is all i have done for now.

It might be a while till i update as i will probably be gaming something that's very hard to do on a old PC/laptop and encoding obviously so i can fit more pron this HD has got to go bleached bungs be damned.

Painting

Painting in the winter for the win..... Rustoleum flat black still need to do the other side and sand/paint one last coat for a little imperfection i made.

img00035201102062307.jpg

Some snow did get on it, but it dried perfect the imperfections were caused by part of the box and theres a little scrape and coverage mishap so I'm going to sand that out and do another coat, then onto the other side. So far so good.

Hmm delay on my processor and GPU.

So i sleeved my cables.

I bought a atx extension on ebay for 5 bucks.... it was a heavy duty variety really thick cables. I'm using 450 paracord regular black and imperial red.

I used heavy duty staples with the ends filed down, this worked excellently. Only cable i had trouble sleeving was PCI-E I made a small loop out of a regular staple and you basically just had to pull REALLY hard like wrap the wire around your finger and pull. PCI-E were just extra from my modular PSU.

when i was partially done.

Paracord. hard to photograph

dscf5032.jpg

That looks pretty good.

dscf5033.jpg

Not perfect, I don't care tho.

dscf5034.jpg

dscf5036x.jpg

Don't mind the modders mess! I also have to fix the sweeper or the wife is going to be play the main character from one of several Steven Seagal films .

Can you tell I'm ready? Hurry up ups man.....

It seem you are taking your pictures from a phone? Lower the resolution to 800x600...

Also, the build is coming along quite nicely.

How bout a sleeved IEC?

Also just got my l.e.d's from Hong Kong and transistors to boot. It's been nice out so i added a second coat to my PSU cover, just need to drill the l.e.d's in and wire it up.

I haven't really done enough to log just yet getting close to finishing the PSU section tho just need to get around to adding the L.E.D's. I already have it painted and the holes drilled. I have the resistors and all that laid out just need to wire it all up and glue the lights in.

Had to wait till it got a little nicer out to paint, when i was doing my first coat it was in the snow and kind of a pain in the butt heating the cans and such.
