Well, assuming it's a parent, I wouldn't put that kind of spelling past them. But yea, I agree it's probably a bit shady, and why I would only consider that as a local deal.

I'm close to Cinci when I'm at home. Alas, I'm in St. Louis.

This sounds too good to be true. I texted the guy and he says it's brand new and he lives in Santa Clarita and I told him I live an hour away in Long Beach. Then he said he is willing to meet half way in glendale to make the transaction. I mean as a seller, you would want the buyer to drive to you. Either he's THAT nice or really desperate to try and scam me out with whatever he has got up his sleeve. We will see. I am meeting him up with a car full of friends with some of them carrying AK-47's. Just in case we have to save the world.

I am gonna ask him if he can open the box up to let me see the contents inside, despite him saying it's unopened.

Can anyone in Santa Clarita/Los Angeles help me pick up that monitor and ship it to me? The person doesn't want to deal with PayPal, so...

Edit: Oh well, as a matter of convenience, he^ wins, lol.

That's funny because I talked to him this morning at 9 to meet up around 12:30 at his area.. I was going to pick it up but he got it as a gift so no order number = no warranty. He wanted to meet at a coffee place so I can't even test the monitor..

I have two of these monitors and was lookin for a third but I'd rather wait for a sale or something and purchase through dell with the 3 year warranty. I'm not really in a rush to get a 3rd but though it would be nifty to try out eyefinity. It's a risk but who knows, it could be in perfect condition and be an awesome deal.

I tried to ask him if he has a place to test it at but he's not responding to my text or calls anymore

Yea. I know. It sucks when Craigslist deals tend to favor a particular region/area.

Hmmm, even if he's legit and the monitor is indeed in the box. I run the risk that it would not work when I get home, or if it has a dead pixel or two or whatever... I couldn't exchange it for warranty. This is starting to put me off now.

I ended up buying the monitor off the guy. No receipt or invoice, just like someone else mentioned, "He got the monitor as a gift" supposedly from his GF. He lied about the monitor being brand new. It was open when he came and he claims to have gotten it as a Christmas gift and used it only once. he said he was getting rid of it because he already has 2 22 inch monitors. Bunch of bull, it's February and he decides to put it on sale after decided he didn't need them about 2 months later?

Anyways he had a DC to AC converter for his car and hooked up the monitor to his laptop and luckily the screen doesn't suffer from backlight bleed whatsoever, no dead pixels, no scratches anywhere, not on the screen not on the stand - nowhere.

For $250 with no warranty and a fully functional monitor with no flaws, I am all right with that for this monitor. Oh yeah, I bugged him about his "GF" having a copy of the invoice, he told me she doesn't have it. So he's giving me a week to decide if I want it or not and he'll let me refund it if im unhappy. Of course he could say anything he wants since it's off of his hands, but we will see.

The box also says Rev A01 and the firmware checker says M1f19... so I doubt this is new, he's probably had this monitor since early 2010. Because the latest hardware revision are the A02's with up to A06 firmwares I believe.
