Video Editing Questions

If this is in the wrong area for this post i apologize.

My brother has several video's of himself in his High School football games, I need to take certain clips from the videos and put them together into one video so he can send it to college recruiters. What program(freeware) should i use? Also is it very hard?

Windows own "movie maker" (comes with microsoft windows) and "Windows live movie maker" (have to download) are pretty good free softwares. Since all you are going to do is basic cut, join and render type jobs...... those should be fine for you. Only worry is that, since these are free (and microsoft) products, they support only limited number of file types for input and output format. If those movie clips were taken with a digital camera (and never changed the format to something like h264 or rmvb) it should work fine. Best of luck.
