XSPC RASA OWNER SHOCKED! 7V MOD less noise + lower temps!?

Ok, so I never really post, I just redid my computer specs below... but, I have a loud pump/res so until I contact them or get a 655, I figured I would see what the 7v mod would do for the pump noise/performance.

DROPPED TEMPS @idle and @load AND lower sound level!!? It appears that at full speed, the pump is putting too much heat into the water! I am very happy! Pump is much quieter (still low volume rattle due to being a loud pump)

I would say the temps have dropped about 1c or 2c

I understand I have no rep on here so I may make a video if no one believes me enough to try it. I am 23 year old with a few builds behind me so I am not just posting for nothing! This is very interesting to me especially because so many may benefit!

I also wonder if the pump being a "loud batch" has something to do with the excess heat at correct operating voltage. Perhaps the noise is a faulty bearing/bushing that is also contributing to excess heat?

Give it a try and post your results!

I just randomly stumbled on this thread when running a google search, and tried the 7v mod for the XSPC 750 res/pump.

I too had good results. My temps were about 55c load and 38 idle at 12v, my temps at 7v are 51c load and 36c idle. And it made my pump a little quieter.

If you have this XSPC res/pump, try this mod.

The reality is all the sugar pill does was get people to pay more attention to their own sleep patterns and once they did, they slept better and got more sleep.

Same thing with a volt mod, you're going to be paying more attention to the times where your temps are lower and notice things you didn't notice before because you weren't looking for it so closely.

The reality says a few watts of heat dump isn't going to make a lick of difference in your temps, but it will help make your loop quieter..
