My OCZ Power Supply Exploded! - Page 3

If it fails to boot with a replacement power supply you may need to pop the mobo battery out & reseat your ram. Oddly enough this is all it took to get a friends system working again after a PSU failure.

Haven't heard too much about Corsair's GS units, but as it's OEMed by CWT, I wouldn't worry too much. Glad you got everything up and running again.

unfortunately it happened to me too.. my power supply is OCZ modxtreme 700 watts the modular type.. just like what happens to you, I was browsing with no means of stressing the PSU, i remember i was at real madrid website when i click an article about casillas bang it shuts downs.. then it opens but it wont boot! good thing the fan of my gtx 295 are spinning other system fans spinning too but it wont boot up.. no signs of burning smell or i haven't heard a loud pop.. it dies silently so i decided to bring my pc to the computer shop they test everything.. at first they thought it was the mobo or the cpu but they test it to another board good thing it work.. it boot up, the board was fine too as well as the 4 stick of rams.. and vid card.. they test the power supply it failed.. damn same as you almost a year... it dies silently though... no signs of smell no burning.. should i worry if other components were harmed? because they didnt test it for a long time.. and i just waiting for my money to buy a 1000 HEC Power Supply it's that a good supply? my PC i bought it last year February and it has high quality components.. it just died down... hoping no other components were harmed knock on wood.. damn

Just stay away from HEC.
Post your computer's specs using http://www.overclock.net/specs.php?do=addsystem and you'll get PSU recommendations for your system.
