How is this new system compared to the one in my sig?

can I run every game decently with a HD5770 & A unlocked X2 555 BE?

I'm pretty good @ OC'n

so i'll get the CPU to around 3,8ghz i think with cores unlocked

& the GPU hits 1000Mhz easily

If the CPU won't go to 3,8Ghz on air
i'll go watercool it

If the difference between 3.8 and 3.6 is 250$ + worth of watercooling, your money would be much better spend on an i7 that will hit 4.5ghz on air..

If you can unlock the CPU you will notice a good increase. Don't listen to everyone that tells you ' Go i7, anything else is a waist!'

This may be true if you do benchmarking, rendering, etc. If all you do is game then a good Quad is all you need.

Its very possible. However, make sure you buy a chip you know will unlock. Otherwise you are just waisting your money on another Dual core.

If you want to overclock your x2 and unlock it, I'd go for the Biostar TA890FXE (or was it TA790FXE?). I have heard a lot of good things about it and it'll be my next board if I ever go for AMD. tongue.gif

Go with the biostar ta890fxe. It currently hold the world record for amd overclock.

Unlocking the other two cores has almost nothing to do with whatever mb u buy. All the new boards have some sort of core unlocker utility. It's going to depend solely on ur CPU. If u want a quad then u better just buy a quad.

six core is kinda expensive & im on a budget so a quad 955 is 117euro & the x2 555 is 70 euro

if it stays at a dual core it will hit that easy, but unlocked you wont know the temp, so you might fry your cpu without knowing it.
