I understand that this is a tech analysis, but a general comment on the game--it really does not look nearly as nice as the original crysis, nor does gameplay seem to have a good feel--it seems entirely dumbed down for a console controller.

My "console friends" told me the game feels exactly like the COD series, and plays the same... Kill streaks, small maps, etc.

You can even see blood at the corners now. It seems they wanted to show the world that they also can make generic console kiddie games.

I guess i will only get this for the SP, as it seems that the MP will be nothing to look forward to, other than eye candy.

Duh... The entire CryEngine 2 would consume all 512MB of frame buffer...

What you're really trying to say is that console can't run games that look like Crysis.(Which would be false, as OmegaNemsis proved most elements on medium, some on low and some on high-settings)

I think it takes a combination of the new engine, tweaked settings/textures as well as clever level design to fit everything in such tight contraints. A whole level from Crysis (not even the intense ones) would still require even further modifications to be playable otherwise it would stutter like crazy and suffer from awful object popping and excessively bland textures.

anyway idk how this is going to connect to crysis 1. the whole new york theme and the new aliens is different. they are obviously the same ones but with different exo suits. i kinda miss grabbing the scouts and throwing them in to other scouts and watching them all die from the explosion . and im gonna miss shooting down flying ones with some fly hax, god mode, and maximum strength set at 200! its just great.
