2.1 Computer Speakers, Low Budget - Page 2

post #11 of 19
ProMedias are a good set of speakers but I think they have quality issues.

I have owned a pair of z-2300's- they were loud but also broke down on me within a couple of years.

I would say go for the M10's. I have never even seen a set of Swan brand speakers around here but they are highly recommended by people on this forum. I also haven't heard of any nagging quality problems with them so if you want a set that will hopefully be enjoyed for a long time to come- get the Swans.

Swan m10

and you still have enough cash to get a Xonar DG

total = $153.

Hmmm... How much would that Xonar help? I'm not opposed to a sound card, but I don't think I'll be able to get it in my mobo without blocking a PCI-e slot for Xfire (which I'm planning on). It's either that or trying to stick it between the two GPUs, which seems silly to me.

IF you can bring yourself to spend the extra cash you could get the xonar DX http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16829132006 which is pci-e and you could put it in the bottom slot on your motherboard or even the top slot. Would make a real difference with those swans as you can really hear the difference on speakers that sound that awesome.

the girlfriend is getting me the m10's for valentines day.

im expecting them to be as great as everyone is saying.

i only have on-board sounds as well, a sound card really make that much more difference?
