Corsair Vengeance 1866 Timings

Thread Starter
Hey i recently bought some Corsair vengeance DDR3 1866 mhz 2x4GB kit.

The thing is i cant get the timings to go any lower than 9-10-9-27 2T or it wont boot.

9-10-9-27 1T crashes on windows, other timings just freeze at sometime during boot.

This is at 1.50v, am i safe to over-volt this if so by how much and what results could i get.

My goal is just to tighten up the timings smile.gif

Thanks

Link to where it was purchased with extra info : https://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MY-292-CS

EDIT: My mobo has vdroop/drop issues on CPU would it be doing the same to the memory ? hense why i cant get 1T

There's something not right with your memory:
Quote:
- Tested together at 1866MHz, Vdimm = 1.50V, at latency settings of 9-9-9-24 on Intel DDR3-based motherboards.

It's not running at the speed, timings, and voltage that it's supposed to, so you need to RMA it. Good luck with that, OcUK aren't exactly renowned for their customer services.

haha the mobo im running on is a RMA from them. Rampage II failed on me they said cos i had got some thermal paste on a pin while dismantling they were not accepting, but let me choose any b grade one so i ended up getting the £250 out of spite biggrin.gif

But just to say, that RAM was rather expensive wth.gif, you could have gone the 1600 @ CAS9 8GB Kit (2 x 4GB) for almost half the price. Was the extra 200MHz really worth it? redface.gif
