I know the Samsung Fascinate runs circles around the Motorola Droid, my son has the Fascinate and I have the Droid, there is NO comparison between the two in regards to performance.
You got the Droid rooted? Because mine running the newest Bugless Beast ROM at 1.2GHZ is a beast in it's own right. The only thing the fascinate does better is the screen,

No, I don't have it rooted. I may try and root it though.
The other con with the Droid 1 is the weight, it's a brick compared to the Fascinate.

I have a another question regarding the Motorola Droid 1, can it be used with no active cell provider? I'm thinking of letting my youngest son use it for music and games even though there won't be any active cell service on it.

Hummingbird > Snapdragon (which is well over 1+ years old now). You're better off waiting for dual-core phones though. They're just around the corner.

What?!?!?

Hummingbird is 8 months old now. Samsung introduced it, and hasn't touched it since. The Nexus S is using the same old hardware the Galaxy S does.

Snapdragon is in it's second generation now, with phones like the Desire Z and HD using a SoC that is only 4 months old, and we've already seen the dual core 3rd gen.

Op asked which processor is better. That is clearly the Scorpion powering Snapdragon.

Notice how the Nexus One and the other snapdragon processors are still dominating?

If you aren't using your phone for gaming Snapdragon is still the clear winner.

Hummingbird has a much better GPU, and on the plus side you'd probably get a Super AMOLED screen with it too!
