Just got a 37 inch LCD TV. Simple question

I was going to use it as my TV but then I discovered that if I did, I would need to get a bigger stand which would take a bit. My question is are there any other maintenance steps I need to take to use it as my PC monitor? I heard static images will burn fast into a TV than into a normal monitor.

LCD isn't particularly prone to burn in compared to if you were using something like a plasma TV..

You're good to pretty much just plug it in and go.

Usually, to use your TV as a PC monitor it takes nothing more than plugging in a HDMI/VGA/DVI port into the tv and either use your PC speakers, or run a cable from the output of your sound card to the TV. After that fire it up and switch over to the pc input on your tv. It should be that simple.

I'm pretty sure you shouldn't get burn in on the TV any faster than you would a PC monitor if the TV is a LCD.However, I'm not too sure how fast it would set in on a Plasma.

It's a regular LCD TV. I refuse to buy plasma. But thanks for the replies. Just gotta get used to sitting 2 feet away from a 3 foot TV now. Gaming on it is amazing
