That still doesn't guarantee it's free from minerals like distilled. You're ALWAYS better off using distilled.

lol, now there's the idea. Why didn't I think of that

Boil the water, catch the steam, cool it, and collect the drops of water (you've got distilled water now)

yeah, as people have said you can distill water yourself if you need to.

Get a pot and two metal cups(or cans or something, one needs to be taller than the other, and they need to be taller than the pan), put the cans on either side of the pan, pour water around them. Place the lid on top on the cups and bring the water to a boil. The lid will be tilted towards the smaller cup and your distilled water will drain into it. Obviously the cups will be hot, so let them cool before you take the water out

I'd like to say this is a lot harder and more time consuming than just buying distilled water, but if you're in a pinch...

i wouldn't, could be a chance that there is dust/debris in the snow

LoL @ snow is extremely dirty remark.

Fresh fallen snow, is extremely pure, I'd bath it it, eat it, drink it...hell actually I have done all of those things in my life haha.

now, as far as the original discussion goes and all technical broohaha aside.

is fresh snow better than tap? I'd say definitely.

Is it really going to make a difference in it being optimal for your loop? doubtful.

I imagine you'd get about the same result with tap water, maybe tap water would just cause more issues sooner.

your best bet is still a better source for coolant.
