Yeah considered something like that. He seems to be excited to help me build it, and I am too.

OCZ Special Ops 1600 CL8 - $30 AR

I highly recommend this modification of a build by badwrench:
CPU: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16819103903 $61 shipped
Mobo: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813138283 $65 shipped
Case/psu: http://cmstore.coolermaster-usa.com/...products_id=90 $21 + $10 s&h
Ram: OCZ Special Ops 1600 CL8 - $40, $30 AR
HDD: Samsung F1 500GB - $40, $35 if Mwave member + $2 s&h
Optical drive: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16827106289 $16 shipped w/ promo code: EMCKHKJ22, ends 2/7
Total = $255, $235 AR + tax shipped.

Also, do you have a Microcenter near you? You can save big there for CPU/motherboard. I know there are two in California - in fact I've been to one in Santa Clara. For a lower price than the x2 250 + A880G+, you can get the Athlon II x4 + Biostar 760G or ASUS nForce board for $100. In fact I'm pretty sure there are even cheaper combos you can choose.
Sweet, thanks for the pull xd.
Here is the original build:
Lowest price and still decent (could actually be lower, but would not be nearly as good). Onboard graphics. Good for everyday use - internet, music, email. Goal of this build was to build the lowest price (out of pocket at purchase) rig, but still good enough to last for a while. Hence, no mir.

CPU: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16819103903 $61 shipped
Mobo: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813138290 $45 shipped
Case/psu: http://cmstore.coolermaster-usa.com/shopping_cart.php $30 + $10 s&h
Ram: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820144461 $44 shipped (I know there is cheaper, but this is the cheapest 1600 solution w/out a rebate.)
HDD: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16822136113 $43 shipped
Optical drive: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16827106289 $16 shipped w/ promo code: EMCKHKJ22, ends 2/7
Total = $249 + tax shipped.

Obviously need to change a few things as some of the promos have ended, but this will actually give you a good computer that will last for a while.

Different HDD: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16822136073 $42 shipped for a 500gb
Case is no longer available, so...http://cmstore.coolermaster-usa.com/...products_id=91 same price as above.
It's so little!
