Phenom 2 x4 965 Bottleneck ??

Thread Starter
Guys, im running 2 x 6950 with the 6970 bios, which are running fine... no issues with anything atall....

I have an AMD X4 965 @ 4ghz

Im wondering if this is being bottlenecked ? I want to wait till BD comes out before i refresh Mobo CPU & memory but right now im wondering if you CPU is bottlenecking the GFX cards..

You're fine. CPU bottlenecks aren't as common as you'd think judging by how often it comes up. Even an older dual core can run a pair of newer graphics cards without issue, provided that everything else is kosher.

increasing your northbridge speed will increase your data throughput, give it a go and see if heaven benches better
basically doing so lowers the latency of the connected components and increases bandwidth.
both are welcome attributes, but like someone else said its unlikely that you are bottlenecked.

mine is at 3120mhz,and i really do notice a difference in the general response-the computer seems much more sharp and snappy.
take a look over in amd memory section of this forum, one guy has done a comparison between tighter ram timings and increased NB,its well worth the read.
