hyper 212 plus dual fan

if i use dual fans with my hyper 212 plus, do i need a y cable to connect the 4-pin fans to the cpu header on my motherboard?

not always a good idea
cpu/nb/case mb fan controllers will have different speeds

best to use a y cable like this

with that one, cut one yellow wire, sending 2 fan speeds to the board will result in incorrect readings

I just plugged the second one into another header on my mobo...?

Have a fan controller now, though...easily the best way to go if you've got the dough for one.
