I would like to see all credit only be applied after items are claimed. That would prevent "junk" abuse and people possibly going negative.

^ I don't think that would be reasonably possible... that is going to make the Swap Meet totally unusable for some people.
We want the Swap Meet to be a reasonable compromise between selling something at the marketplace for cash and giving it away as a freebie, that's actually well-utilized on the site. The large problem I see with doing that is that the entire Swap Meet would slow down. People (as in, everyone) would have less credits to spend, and trading would be much less encouraged. The Swap Meet would have belittled in purpose to a non-busy thread in the freebie section, not the vibrant trading community that currently exists.

To think, if the Swap Meet had actually started with that rule, nobody would be able to claim any items...

Perhaps we should look at it on the other side of things: what to do with people whose credits go negative? How otherwise to minimize that?

what do you guys think about watercooling parts?

ive got
1x swiftech small rez with barbs -.75-1
2x drive bay rez no barbs-.5 each
120 rad - 1 (maby?)
Socket A block (yes a socket A waterblock) lol although judging by design it would be easy to fit to a amd system with a little modding - Uhhhh idk .5-1 ish maby?? lol

let me know what you think about the points more less?? not really into watercooling.

might have some more comming up soon specificly some red tubing and a half bottle of coolant and maby some quick disconnect fittings if they dont sell

There are items i'd like to claim but I won't do so since i've not "given" anything away yet. I just see a bunch of people going negative because they are tossing up junk items for the sake of credits to claim things. These items are likely to sit unclaimed forever, such as the DDR2 SODIMMS. I have a PILE of 512's sitting here that I didn't even bother to list because there's a ton of them already up there.

I think something should be done to adjust it though. I'm debating on pulling my items down just due to lack of interest. I'm not gonna claim anything until I give something and I don't see my stuff getting claimed any time soon. I'd just as soon put it up as a flat freebie should someone want it.

Can we separate the Laptop and desktop ram?

Also, what are the thoughts on laptop parts? I have some of those too I could put up. Maybe along with a set of OCZ desktop ram, but I don't want it to be buried within all the current SODIMMS.

also wanted to vote for a new rule......

that anyone from this point on who posts Pentium 4/Celeron D, Athlon/Sempron 939 processors; it has to come with a motherboard that works with it.

The Swap Meet is cluttered with too many old processors no one really wants and getting credit for it. They are more valuable if they have the motherboard with it.

also I think nonworking motherboards should be giving .25 credits instead of .50 since they are basically useless. I really think they are worth 0 but I didn't want to take alot of credits from people like Racer86 who have been good for this thread.

I still think there is some value to the older processors. That said though, I agree. It seems people are basically littering the swap meet with old crap just to get credits so they can grab the good stuff. Once the good stuff disappears, the thread seems to die off.

^ Although it seems fair due to *current* conditions, forcing items to be paired only with certain other items (unnecessarily) would be very, very discouraging. Socket 478 is very common as is 939 (in fact a lot of 939 Athlons outperform Pentium 4s and Pentium Ds today), I don't think motherboards would be that hard to find.

I'm currently thinking of various ways to address the issue of certain items being left behind on the Swap Meet.

I was actually considering pulling those boards as I don't really feel there worth the shipping costs to even try and bake lol

Also concerning the older processors maby put a limit on how many of each old socket can be up at once lik 5 478 5 939 CPUs ect ect
