There was an issue with a transistor in the P67 Chipset and H67 that affected the SATA 2 Ports over a time period.

The chipset was faulty as well as a couple of other things, From what I heat, April is when they should be done fixing the error I guess. Other than that, SB is a beastly chip

OH, and just to clear it up, the cpu itself is completely fine, just the mobo's were acting up.

Well, you could just get one and in April you'll be able to RMA for a replacement for free. The only thing wrong with Sandybridge was the SATA 2 Ports(3Gbps), but if you use the SATA 3 Ports(6Gbps) there is no issue.

lol yer. seems to happen a bit. but yer i had no idea because they are all still in stock at the store i go to... weird
ummm well im not 100% sure. my mate sent me msg on fb and gave me a rough idea of what wanted out of it but didnt really say when he needed it by :S and nah no gift. would be one expensive gift if it was lol

lol thats for sure, well you can always try out the x58 platform, theres a golden i7 920 in our marketplace right now, as well as a xeon w3550, both are known to clock to 4.5 or more, would have mine around that but I have to get some better ram first

i doubt he would want me to oc it to high.. its kinda his first custom pc/first he actually owns himself i think. probs shoot for 3.8 minimum but again i can oc an intel for balls haha. highest i got my mates i5 1156 was 3.7 stable and i had no idea of what to do lol. it was on that bulls#$t evga ftw board. soooo many saftey and voltage protection options and stuff :S
