The 2500k is a Sandy Bridge processor.

I think you're getting confused.

1155 is Sandy Bridge. (New)

1156 is Lynnfield/ Clarkdale. (Old)

If it's not a K series unlocked sandy bridge it's not worth the money. They are a pain to overclock and are severely limited by their multiplier since you cannot up the BCLK by much.

Your move though.

to stay within the 1500 budget, grab a corsair or thermaltake psu, the one ou chose is a top brand, but its pretty pricey, though im not sure how prices are where you are

honestly,if its only for gaming and mild video encoding, ill definatly go with 1156,they are still great cpu's but if hes not on a budget ill get an i7 860 or i7 875k avoid the i7 870 coz i heard they have alot of problems, but hey its just a rumor i heard
