Need a good mouse mat/pad - Page 2

I'm using the Razer Sphex I just got with the G500, and I LOVE IT! Have a nice feeling to it and I like how smooth it is.

Get a cloth mousepad for sure if you don't want a slippery surface.

I used to have a G500, quite a bit of jitter on cloth mats, it's a weakness of the sensor.

Now have a Razer DA with my Steelseries Qck Heavy, much better.

My personal recommendations are

cloth
Xtract Ripper,Qpad ct,goliathus,Roccat Sense or taito,Even ozone makes good pads

Hard,
Steel series 4-9hd,Roccat Sota,Qpad heaton,Mionix propus 380,

Razer makes good products but in the hard mat category i find their pads to be to small,as i like a large mouse pad.Raptor gaming has a few new mats out that look promising you may want to check into those.I have the Qpad heaton Xl which is very large but still very comfortable why i rest my hand on it and tracks really well.very smooth but not out of control good feedback from it. Just for reference here is the heaton compared to my old Razer sphez.

Roccat Alumic looks pretty good, but it hasn't come out yet. Seems to borrow the concept from Razer mousepads by having a control side and a speed side on one mousepad.

Using this one with a Logitech Performance MX. Nice feeling, big enough for me, but can be quite noisy when performing faster mouse-movements!

ya I won't get one of those wrist things. They restrict movement and are bad for your wrists.

The spex is a plastic top surface.it is about the thickness of construction paper, but has good glide and not to rough on the mouse feet. But i was not liking how thin it was so i purchased a cheap 5 buck mouse pad layed it under the spex and glued it down to the cloth so it was thicker.Overall it is pretty good pad but honestly for what it is i dont think it is worth $15,basically just a sheet of plastic with adhesive on the backside.

If you plan to never move the mouse pad from what location it is at or like really thin pads then it would be ok,But i noticed when you move it around it peel's off the backside which results in being able to see through the pad as it is that thin.If i had to give that pad a rating i would say it is a good 6 out of 10 and that is just because it tracks well
