1) Change SATA controller mode to RAID
2) Boot into RAID BIOS and assign drives into a 'striped' array
3) ???
4) Profit

Keep in mind once you add your drives to an array, any and all data will be toasted on both drives.
You'll also have to reinstall Windows.

What do you mean Boot into RAID BIOS? Do you mean go into the Raid window where it shows the 2 drives and it says Name/Array/Stripe size 128kb/raid o/ and in there is where i can change these options but when i went to create the Array it says about all data will be lost i pressed no so i could go and get some stuff off of the hdd's im gonna use for the Raid 0 and i figured while doing that i would find what i need to know here just so i knew i was doing it right! Thanks so much for the reply bro!!!!!

good deal it is nice for the speeds in raid-0. Though i would make a weekly backup using acronis though. For protection as if one drive goes out you loose it all then. Post some benchmarks of your raid also.

I was just gonna post about noticing everything is alot faster not just the file transfers but also the boot time is like under a minute its like 30-40 seconds and games are loading like crazy fast that you dont even see the load bar go up this is very very nice and yes im New to Raid i've been waiting so long just to try it out but never had the other exact same hard drive to do it with or any money to buy one but $10 for a 320Gb Sata II hdd thats Cheap enough for me to buy lol well i guess thats another reason y im in the Cheap Hobo Club

@Killer K-- Thanx for the advice bro i make sure i do the backup's and that link you posted does that program bench the hdd or no if not what do i use to bench the hdd? What about HD Tune or HD Tach or Crystal Disk Mark??

So i just found out that the one 320gb seagate hard drive is a 2.5 inch sata II hdd and it runs at 5,400 RPM's but my other 3.5 in. 320gb seagate sata II hdd runs at 7,900 RPM's so im thinkin it took the lowest speed of the 2 hdd's and is running both in 5,400 RPM's kind of like when you stick a 533mhz ram stick in yur pc and a 667mhz stick in also but then it says they are running at 533mhz am i right? Well i cant complain it was only $10 for the 320gb sata drive i think its from a PS3 i got from my dad so it prally is lol!!!

Your desktop drive will be still spinning at 7200 RPM, but it will have a lot of wait states implemented waiting for the smaller drive to spin around. Also, your sequential performance will not be optimal since the smaller drive cannot obtain the same velocity at the outer edge of the platter.

So basically, your faster drive is always waiting on your slower drive, and the performance you're achieving is the same as if you put two of the 5400 RPM 2.5" drives in RAID 0.
