Here I am. Somewhat on a budget and would like to know what you all think about the setup I am planning... I think I have it planned well but I've only built a couple pcs....and have never unlocked cores or anything beyond putting the parts together and installing windows XD I think I have everything relevant listed but if I missed something just let me know.

What I have now is in my rig info. I am planning to buy these from newegg;

Asus VE228H 21.5" Full HD HDMI LED BackLight LCD Monitor w/Speakers

Item #: N82E16820231275 $46.99
AMD Phenom II X2 555 Black Edition Callisto 3.2GHz Socket AM3 80W Dual-Core Desktop Processor - C3 Revision HDZ555WFGMBOX
Item #: N82E16819103846 $89.99

additional items
ARCTIC COOLING ACALP64 Pro 92mm CPU Cooler
Arctic Silver 5 Thermal Compound - OEM

additional thoughts: I realize some people have a Voltage drop when OCing the Mobo.... I have never OCed in my life....and don't actually plan on trying...so I figured this would work for my case

if you can find a way to get a litle more cash would be better to get a 560 than a 460 just because of the actual value.
for the monitor go with this Asus full HD for 145$ AR
for the card id recommend MSI 460 for 120$ AR , this CPU Cooler 25$ AR and this Ram for 35$ , this should look good

Rustynails: Thank you but its way out of my budget at this time for me to get that and everything else. The most I've ever spent on a graphics card is 42.00

RabbitGT: That Asus monitor is 159.99. I actually was going to do that originally but by choosing the lesser monitor I was able to budget in other things. 30 bucks may not seem like much...but in my house hols thats 2 packs of pull ups! XD And to assure you, its much better than my current situation [a used dell 19" from buddys home furnishings at 300.00+. I had no choice but to use them till tax time when my old monitor died.]

GPU: I noticed you suggested a GPU with less Ram than what I had chosen. It would certainly allow for the monitor I really like. What kind of difference would I see between the 460 1gbddr5 vs 768mbddr5? Any real difference in gameplay?

CPU cooler: Neweggs listed this as 34.99. I understand you are using rebate listings but the rebates wouldn't help if I don't have starting cash. Can you tell why this more expensive cooler would be better for a cpu that will never be over clocked?

RAM: I see where your going...making use of dual channel here...I feel like if I'm going to do two sticks I may as well do 4gb x 2. Then again...your option is budget minded.

Thank you for taking time with me. I really look forward to your reply

if your near a microcenter, this monitor is pretty nice for $120
http://www.microcenter.com/single_pr...uct_id=0347974

dont plan on unlockig cores, just think of it as a bonus if they do unlock and are stable
if you need an x3 or x4 buy an x3 or x4
its only about $40-60 more for the 955 vs 555
microcenter 955 = $130, 555 = $88, diff = $42
newegg 955 = $149, 555 = $90, diff = $59

gpu: games that use large ammounts of vram will play better with 1g vs 768
ex. gta4, crysis ect..

ram: 2x2g for gaming ect seems to be a good spot, windows 32 will only use 4g total with 3-3.5 usable for apps (some is used for video and system)
also many ddr3 1600 kits are cheap now

check the market place on the forum for cards

Get 1600Mhz RAM, definitely, if you plan to overclock. RabbitGT's suggestion is a great one.
dragon age 2 recomends 512m, either would be fine for it

for the mobo you picked, amd with nvidia chipsets kinda suck for overclocking and unlocking

for about the same price as the 555 and M4N98TD you can get M4A89GTD and 965
