Gaming 1920x1200 vs 1920x1080..? (Want to buy: HP LP2475w) - Page 2

Conclusion: Higher resolution = better, Would you rather have a 19" LCD @ 1280x1024 or a 22" @ 1920x1200?

I think a more proper rhetoric would be a larger monitor with a lower resolution...

Thread Starter
I totally want the 1920x1200.

It's just that I seen 10 times more 1920x1080's for sale than I did 1920x1200's.

I saw a 1920x1200 that looked like a good quality for price: HP LP2475w Black 24 and I'm considering buying it.

What ya'll's peep's think of that monitor???

In windows, 1200p is clearly better

In games, 1080p sees more horizontally and the same amount vertically. That's how games work. It's a resolution scaling method called hor+ (Well used at wide screen gaming forums). It means that every resolution sees the same vertically and wider ratios see more horizontally

For example, if you have a 1200p monitor, decreasing the resolution to 1080p makes you see more. Decreasing to 1920x720 makes you see more. 1920x600 is like having eyefinity but the resolution is so low that it sucks.

The nice side effect from all of this is that 1920x1200 panels have more image clarity than 1080p panels, if we don't take panel quality into consideration.

So in games there isn't a huge minus for either. Both work

1080p is fine. It won't cripple your game in any way. In windows it's fine.
