how do I hardwire 3 wire case fans

I know that the extra wire is a sensor wire but what do I do with it when I am trying to hardwire it to a 12v power supply. I recently modded my 360 and wanted to use 3 wire fans but didnt cause I wasnt sure if they would work , also I wanted to know if anyone had any dead 360's - I would like to buy your old fans...

thanks

Nick

Im not sure-- it was online-- it just has three wires and I already have a power source from a 12 power adapter. I just need to know what to do with the yellow wire ..there is red ,black, and yellow --- I know what to do with the red and black , but does the yellow wire need to be connected to something to work or is this type of fan uncapable of being hard wired into a 12v power source?

The yellow wire does not need to be connected,it is an RPM monitor. If you wish to monitor the fan RPM then connect it to one of the extra fan connectors on your mobo.
