Also, if we are talking about just getting a smaller cooler, or only using the 2 furthers ram slots, what ram would you recommend? This is assuming that money is basically no issue, all I am after is quality.

I have seen this one, the only problems are a) It doesn't have any reviews, and b) I don't know for certain if it's small enough.

It's essentially the baby version of the Venom which I originally had my eyes on.

Sorry to keep bumping this thread up, but I just found this RAM on Scan. It looks almost exactly like you were talking about ellisbodds: 1.5v, 4gb single stick, low profile so it should fit under most CPU coolers.

Plus at that price it's about £150 for 16gb, which is great.

Can you think of any downsides to it?

why dont you look into a Corsair Closed Liquid Cooling system like the H50/70, it would give you good temps and allow you to have any RAM of your choice without having to worry about the hight of the ram

Yeah someone mentioned that on the OCUK forums, but I was a bit put off by the reported noise levels, and the price (over £80 for the H70)

The H60 is coming out in February (according to Corsair's website), so maybe that will be quieter, having only 1 fan.

in combination of your whole system it wont bring the sound up that much. your 2 vid cards will probably overpower the sound and remember if you get one you wont ever have to worry about ram hight on it thats why i got my A.C.L and its nice. if you can try to get a coolit ECO A.L.C. like i got. its easy to install and the temps are good. at 3.2 at 1.4v my temps are on average 27c and i have never seen them go above 37c at full load and it had room to add another fan if you choose to

Well, I'm hoping not!
According to the blurb, "Twin FrozR II 5 Heatpipe Dual Fan SILENT Cooler"

I have been looking at CoolIT's CPU coolers, and they do seem a bit more user-friendly than Corsair's ones. The one I am currently looking at is the Vantage, because although it costs more (about the same as Corsair's H70), it has a LED screen on the CPU part which lets you control the settings, so I could put it in 'quiet' mode and if the temperatures don't get too bad, I could leave it there.

I can, unfortunately. It's only 1333MHz with 9-9-9-24 timings. I'd say as a bare minimum go with 1600MHz CL9.

But apart from that, it looks good, having the voltage, size and price that you want.

G.SKILL ECO 8GB (2 x 4GB) 1600 will work if you can get them in the UK.
