case/cooling upgrade comments?

Thread Starter
i plan on ordering this later. basically a case/cooling upgrade (on a budget). this is the only part of my system left to upgrade.

case: i like the look, has all the features i want

fan controller: i only need 4 channels. plenty of wattage per channel to add more fans if ever needed. since the controller doesn't come with any 3 pin extensions i ordered 3 of these as well.

212+: allows for decent overclocks. perfect for me.

Cooling:

the 3 pin splitter is for the two rosewills i'm also ordering. they are 87CFM/38dB but i will only have them on high during gaming (with headphones on) and benching. they will be mounted on the top of the case, hence they are ball bearings. i also have a rosewilll 64CFM i will put as intake. plus the two fans the case comes with on the back and sidepanel. is this enough cooling for me with an OC?

i also got a 24pin and 8pin extension because i plan on doing cable management and my PSU cords are kind of short.

what do you think?

cannot view you shopping cart, just goes back to mine, which has some DDR3 RAM in it

Ditto to what the MC said.

I can say though that the 212+ is an excellent budget heatsink and will net you a decent overclock.

Your cooling looks like it'll be more than sufficient though.

Yes, I know. lol. almost every review says that but things like that don't really bother me though. plus the front of my pc isn't even in my line of sight when looking at the monitor.

doesn't the cpu cooler come with compound already, saves you the $8-9 bucks on AS, the difference being negligible

from reading up on it, i read that higher quality compounds can have a wide gap in lowering temperatures (~1-5 degrees, or sometimes no difference), but normally it lowers a couple degrees. i figured, why not?

There really isn't a need of that thermal compound, it is included in the CPU cooler you have there. Paste does not have a massive difference too.

That's a delicious Fan controller you have there, it's cheap (:
