Electricity reasons I'm guessing?

My house mate who's parents own the place unplugged my internet lead last night. I asked why he did and his response was:

"You dont have a case, its a fire risk."
"Its costing too much"
"Its pointless"
"My parents dont like it since its not in case"

To which my reply was:

"we have a £80 a month budget for electric, there is no way in hell my PC is costing as much as you say it does."
"Its been out of the case since November last year"
"You do know that even if you unplug my ethernet lead, my PC still stays on"

The computer is staying on, reguardless of what happens. But for now, just to shut him up. I moved buying a new case that I was going to do in May to now. If he says anything else, I will demand to see the electric bill.

Your PC is just a fraction of the monthly electricity cost. Does your roommate that just a few 60w light bulbs use more electricity than your whole computer, and are more of a fire risk because they run much hotter? Tell him that and see what he says.
