???????? Huh?????????

How is my sig contradicting my post's? And where has anyone put a price on anything?

If 8 core BD is that good, i'll buy one, whatever the price. Do you believe 8 cores @ 6Ghz for 36 points in cinebench?

if I was a owner of a P4 520 I would probably be an Intel hater right now
the last "netburst" I owned was in 2002, AMD just had products that were so much more interesting, until the Core 2 came out.. I remember upgrading from a Pentium 4 to a Tbred B Athlon Xp, that was good

but at the moment Intel clearly have the lead in terms of performance (well, since 2006), but AMD have many interesting products that are superior in their price range so... and hopefully they will close the gap with the bulldozer

anyway, I find an odd reason to be unhappy with AMD if you bought some bad Asus MBs,

but I care more about performance per $, that's why I bought my current setup some years ago,

Hmmm, ok then I shouldn't blame AMD for my phenom I x4 BE bad overclocking then... and that doesn't tarnish their proven track record... lol

anyways on topic... intel is harder to overclock than AMD I will admit that... but if you read a few good tutorials you'll be fine... I'd even be happy with a phenom II x6 atm but for price/performance I knew sandy bridge would be better performing for the price... 250ish vs 300 isn't that much for how much better this processor is... plus I wouldn't have even hit 5.0 on the AMD... so its ok with me that I had to switch over... I'm waiting and going to build a bulldozer rig this year... provided it comes out... so all is not lost for amd... and hopefully they surprise all of us...

How you can justify blaming a company because you are attempting to operate a product outside of design specifications is beyond me. You're only guaranteed what's on the box, anything else is a bonus.

I'm not a fanboy but i like testing different stuff..I use to have quad then moved to 1055t never had issue like yours...the only thing i like about AMD procee, they dont have cold bug pluss a little cheaper than intel i7 and its only 10% difference in performance...maybe its your bios and i heard that unlocking cores, you only unlock the bad ones that they closed.....so if you unlock them pluss OC...
well most probably it will be unstable...
Ill be switching to intel & Nvidia after i benchmark my ney 1090t and crosshair IV
then after that ill just build a torrent rig...

My i7 has been the only Intel chip I have ever owned. Back in the early 2000's AMD just had more to offer than Intel and at a much more competitive price. I will simply buy whatever has the most performance, with some exceptions on if there is only a marginal increase for an absurd price hike.

I will say that I have thoroughly enjoyed this CPU from Intel though and have never had a problem as well as being lots of fun.

Sure I'm not guaranteed anything passed specs but the chip just plain sucked... :/
