Done with AMD, going to Intel! - Page 9

No actually, I am putting together a Core2 Duo system for my fiance for a bit of light photo shopping.

I have to admit I was a fanboy but with all things like that, it gets you nowhere quick on here.
I had to change my ways, but it helps out a lot if people have an idea of what they are talking about when making outlandish claims. Like that call about Intel being the best the whole time, that is a load of snot. There was a time where Intel was the gum on the overclockers shoe, hot and useless.
I also mentioned that AMD "was" one of their main fabricating plants, so it wasn't always the case of Intel being on top.

Also I wouldn't be the one pointing the finger so quickly, I have spotted you trolling the AMD threads pretending to know what you are on about.

Like this for instance, you tried to tell and AMD user that they wouldn't have to take off the stock heatsink mount before installing an aftermarket cooler, so where did you get that information from?

So you either have no clue what you are talking about or........your a troll.
Which is it......no clue or troll/fanboy ?

You guys are too attached to these companies, they just want your money fyi. Amd, Intel, who cares as long as you get what you want? I understand brand loyalty but come on... :/

i agree. whether some people like either intel or amd, you cant make them change just because you think one is better than the other. after all, its their choice on what they want to do. to me intel and amd have no point in being rivals because they both produce good quality processors, and have a load of fans that choose them every single day. and if we have little incidents like this where people think one is ****tier than the other (sorry for swearing), we will eventually cause all kinds of problems that may actually cause one company to close down. then everyone would just keep on fighting. its utterly pointless

I have used both AMD and Intel and think they both make great processors. Ultimately I believe it all comes down to what your needs are. For me all I really do is browse, e-mail, download and do the occasional gaming on ewarzone. I chose AMD over Intel simply because I don't need a high-end processor based on my computing needs; I decided to save some money and I've never been happier.

I just don't understand all the back and forth rhetoric about one being better than the other. Honestly, it all boils down to what you use your computer for. If you are content with a certain brand fine but no need to bash the other.

Jumped off that burning building years ago; AMD had a nice performance boost over Intel back when I had my AMD 64 3500+. After that, once Intel came out with Wolfdale, that's when (IMO) Intel got back on top.
